Westminster Hotel & Spa Nice is far from cheap, but it is very romantic and somewhat more affordable than some of the 5 star hotels on this list. Westminster is a 4 star but it is right on the Promenade near the centre of Nice so the location is excellent. As the name suggests the hotel has a spa, it also has an excellent restaurant as well as a great bar with a terrace overlooking the beach. It’s a great spot for an affordable romantic getaway on the French Riviera.
Mercure Nice Marché Aux Fleurs
Couples looking for a cheap romantic hotel in Nice will love Mercure Nice Marché Aux Fleurs. This excellent value 4 star hotel is right on the waterfront in the heart of the old town. It is an exceptional location right in the heart of Nice. Most rooms here are tiny, much smaller than the one pictured which is Deluxe room. The smallest rooms here are only 12m2 which is about as small as a hotel room can be. However, the location is great, it is a great choice for a short stay like a cheap weekend getaway for two.
Mercure Nice Promenade Des Anglais

The views are spectacular, both during the day and in the evening when the city lights make it very romantic. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, but none in the hotel itself, however they do offer a basic breakfast buffet in the hotel.

Arome Hotel is a an excellent choice for couples looking for an affordable getaway in Nice. It’s a nice 4 star hotel in a great location near the centre of Nice, a short walk from the promenade. It is known for clean rooms and friendly staff. Be warned some of the smaller rooms are very small, however they are well furnished and nice enough for a short stay.
